Does the following sound like someone you know?
You’re afraid of leaving the house after dark.
At one moment you’re happy, the next you’re sad, the next you’re angry and the next you’re frustrated—and the cycle never seems to stop.
Your friends and family worry about you constantly and never let you out of their sight.
You refuse to try new things alone because you’re worried that you’ll hurt yourself.
You don’t want to get a dog guide or use a cane because you don’t want to be embarrassed or stand out.
You constantly wonder if something is wrong with your appearance—does your hair look okay? Are there spots on your clothes? Does what you’re wearing match? Is your shirt inside out or backwards? Do your socks match?
You are perpetually single and never go on dates.
You’d rather wander around a street corner for an hour when you’re lost than stop a stranger and ask for help.
You’re always on someone else’s schedule—you either have to rely on buses, cabs, or your friends and family to get anywhere.
Your bank account is in the single digits after all the money spent on low vision aides.
Hi, I’m Nancy Solari, and if you found yourself agreeing with any of the previous statements, my program—"Living Full Out"—could be the answer for you.
Don’t feel trapped in a life you didn’t choose.
Don’t be the person your friends and family worry about.
Don’t live in fear that you won’t be able to care for yourself in the future.
Ask yourself. Do you…
…want to go on dates but are afraid of what your date will think of you?
…not go out because you’re afraid you won’t recognize friends who are waiting for you at a restaurant?
…feel as if you can’t keep up with the fully sighted world?
…feel like you have to settle with the person you’re with just so you aren’t alone?
…struggle with patience because you’re on everyone else’s schedule but your own?
…struggle with feeling off-balanced or emotionally incomplete?
…have a hard time analyzing what clothes you’re going to wear in the morning?
…you don’t like to talk about the dreams and passions you had before you vision loss?
…feel ashamed of your limitations?
…wish that you could live life free from the kindness of strangers and dependence on others?
Have you given up on your dreams because of your diagnosis?
Have you limited your life?
What would you give to have the confidence, independence, and flexibility of a “sighted” person?
How has your vision loss robbed you from living the life you know you could be living?
Do you ever feel that no matter how smart you are, how tough, how creative, or how passionate, nothing you will ever do will make up for the fact that you cannot see?
Are you spending hours listening to inspirational books-on-tape, scouring the Internet for success stories, and chanting mantras to yourself, but still not finding the energy or enthusiasm to change?
Have you stopped doing things for yourself, like going to the movies, going on a walk, or enjoying a hobby because you’re afraid of being alone or getting injured?
Let me show you how to recover your confidence, independence, and flexibility!
I discovered how to be free of my burdens. I learned not to be trapped by my fears. I learned how to exhale in life.
I did it and so can you! How is this possible?
Simple. I’ve done it in my own life, I’ve helped others do it, and I can help you. I’ve been where you are right now and I dug my way out so you don’t have to.
Here’s what Nancy’s clients are saying…
“Nancy [utilizes] patience, listening and dedicated time…we are very pleased!”
- Jim and Lori Baudino
How I allowed my insecurities to ruin my social life.
The gondola date that wasn’t
As my vision started to fail and my disability increased, I became more determined to appear “normal.” I decided to hide my visual impairment.
This was, as you might have guessed, a huge mistake.
I was on a date with a guy who invited me to go on a gondola ride—sounds romantic, right? But as we walked down the ramp to the dock, rather than admitting to him that it was hard for me to see at night, I offered to follow him and thought I’d be able to watch the moon reflect on his hair.
Well, I didn’t notice that he had turned right and so continued walking straight... off the dock.
He was a nice guy; I’m sure he would have guided me, but I was too proud and embarrassed to ask.
I denied my vision loss in an unnecessary, unsafe, and unhealthy way.
Alone in Vegas
Not sharing my disability with my friends and colleagues was also a big mistake.
When I went to Vegas with two colleagues, I did not tell them about my vision loss and was separated from them one night in a crowded club.
I panicked when I couldn’t find them, especially because I could not see well in the dark.
When they found me, I was almost in tears. Without knowing about my vision loss, they could not understand why.
I was ashamed and did not want to share my disability with the world.
I began to settle…
I stayed with a boyfriend I knew did not support me because I was afraid no one else would want someone who couldn’t see well.
I thought I was lucky to have anyone who would “put up” with me and my disability.
I stopped traveling.
I stopped making plans to go out at night.
I gave up going to the movies.
I dreamed of skiing, but thought it would be impossible to try.
I dreamed about owning homes in Costa Rica and Panama, but they were just dreams.
My wake up call
It started one winter day, way before dawn. A client had asked me to do a very early morning showing for her, and so two buses later I was standing in the cold dark next to the house, talking on the phone with the absent client who told me that she would have to reschedule the showing. I hung up the phone feeling incredibly frustrated, angry, and disrespected.
The end of my rope
The bus ride home was even worse. I had to get up and move when a drunk homeless man started petting me. When I got home and explained to my boyfriend what had happened, he laughed and told me I was stupid and gullible for agreeing to do such an early morning showing in the first place. I went into my office almost in tears, and the rest of the day was long and painful. I was panicky, terrified, and hopeless.
I felt totally lost
That night, I was talking to a good friend on the phone and she asked me what had happened to the confident, successful, and loving woman she knew. I started crying when I realized that I didn’t know. It was as if I had lost who I used to be—but I knew she must be buried somewhere inside me.
How I returned to myself
I was acting as if I was a different person now that I had lost my vision, while in fact, I was the same person with the same goal and dreams, who just happened to have a visual disability. I didn’t have to change my life just because I had this disability.
The key to making my dreams a reality
Everything I wanted—to travel, to be in a loving relationship, to make more money, to not work so hard—these were all achievable goals if I addressed them one by one. The tears stopped and I decided that from that moment on, I was going to step beyond my fears and follow my dreams. As soon as I thought it, I knew I could do it.
I realized that the true disability was not loss of sight but fear.
All of a sudden, I was aware I had this gift.
I learned that I had to lose my sight to see beyond my fears.
I realized how my life had positively changed since I started losing my vision and realized that:
I trust people more now than I did before because I have to believe they won’t lead me astray or take advantage of me - especially when I need help signing my credit card slips.
I cut myself more slack and don’t get frustrated when I make mistakes like misjudging a step and tripping.
I understand that a task, such as getting dressed in the morning, will take me almost twice the time it might for someone with perfect sight, but I don’t allow that knowledge to frustrate me and I don’t try to rush myself only to prove a point.
I love people for who they really are because I’m less concerned with the physical features my vision loss prevents me from noticing.
My visual disability wasn’t going anywhere.
I couldn’t hide from it or hide it from the people around me.
I wouldn’t deny its limitations or affect on me because that led to unsafe, unpleasant, and painful situations (such as falling off a pier at night).
If I wanted to continue living the life I wanted, I knew I would have to accept my disability entirely and view it as an important, but not all-powerful, part of my life.
In that moment, I accepted all the gifts my visual impairment was giving me.
I made a commitment to myself: nothing would stop me.
Since that time...
I’ve become a top-producing real estate agent,
I make a six-figure income,
I go hiking,
I go swimming,
I love to go dancing late at night,
I love Texas Hold ‘Em and I win big because they never know if I’m bluffing,
I travel by myself to foreign countries,
I’m a karaoke fanatic,
I love lying out on the beach,
I love driving cars – at Disneyland,
I roller blade,
I ride tandem on a bike with my boyfriend,
Last summer I swam with dolphins in open water,
This year I’m planning to snowboard,
And I just got back from Cabo and the Bahamas.
This is how I live full out. But it wasn’t until people began asking me, “Nancy, how do you do it?” or “What’s your secret?” that I realized I could give this gift to others.
I created the Living Full Out System because that’s how I live.
Here’s what Nancy’s clients are saying…
“My wife and I were immediately drawn to Nancy’s great attitude and professionalism… We give Nancy our highest praise.”
- Oliver D’Arceaux
What is your secret vision? What are you settling for?
What would it be worth to have the confidence to go outside at night, to meet new people without fear, to try a sport like skiing, to not be afraid of tripping when you walk, to not have to constantly judge doorways and hallways and count your steps?
You can have all this and more! You do not have to give up your dreams. You do not have to settle.
Your inner vision deserves its chance to thrive!
Here’s what Nancy’s clients are saying…
“Thanks so much for all your help. You have always been so patient and have been so accommodating…You have always gone the extra mile…more power to you.”
- Ellen Robles
Don’t let your fears make life more difficult than it needs to be.
Just think, in less than 3 months you could be…
…dancing again,
…skiing,
…riding a tandem bicycle,
…dating,
…buying clothes that make you look good,
…laughing,
…traveling,
…going to bars and concerts,
…writing a story,
…painting,
…hiking,
…enjoying time with your family and friends,
…meeting new people,
…going out at night,
…walking without assistance,
…and much, much more!
Just because you’re visually-impaired, doesn’t mean you can’t fulfill your vision.
If you don’t have to rely on anyone, you’re a lot more empowered.
Let me help you get back your independence and inner vision.
Here’s what Nancy’s clients are saying…
“It has been a true pleasure working with you. You’ve always been honest and provided me with very useful information. A true professional. Most importantly, you always looked after my best interest.”
